Franklin OM cutaway - 1988

$8,999.00
  • Nick Kukich was perhaps the very first non-Martin luthier to revive the pre-war Martin OM-style guitar. He was building in Sandpoint Idaho in the 1970s (with noted archtop builder Steve Andersen as his assistant for a while) and has since had shops in Seattle, Missouri, and Portland, where he currently resides.

This particular example has a unique and hugely functional cutaway and about the straightest, most perfectly bookmatched and most perfectly quartersawn old, old Brazilian rosewood that I’ve even seen. -Other than a bit of wear on the rings between the soundhole and the pickguard, the guitar remains in near mint condition. The sound is mature and open, like the best Martin OMs of the early 1930s.

Built in 1988, braces scalloped in 2016. A truly exceptional and elegant guitar.

  • fingerboard width: 1-⅞”

  • neck profile: very shallow C
