Kauffman parlor - 2018
b&s: Brazilian rosewood
top: Sitka spruce
nut” 1-¾”
And here’s a description from the man himself:
“My parlor was designed while playing crayons with my daughter when age three and was inspired by the proportions of historic instruments. I wanted to combine the features of a Klein/Kasha guitar with a more deeply rooted aesthetic appeal. This one is of Brazilian rosewood acquired circa 1980, and called the charcoal log for its deep color. Though more quietly elegant than flashy, this wood has proven to be among the best sounding and most stable of all the rosewood I’ve used. The top is Sitka, neck mahogany, bridge rosewood.”
So there.
And fellow fingerpickers, I can vouch personally for its fabulousness, although my flatpicking brethren and sistren tell me it’s a wonderful strummer, as well.
