  • The littlest of the big-bodied Klein/Kauffmans. It’s the same model that Muriel Anderson uses, but in Koa, with a cutaway. The “L” differs from the standard 396 in that it has a 14-fret mahogany neck, open-gear tuners and a shallower depth, pinless bridge with the strings feeding from the inside. This led to the need for a tool-free access panel … the MagDoor, a Steve Kauffman innovation.
