Schoenberg OM-C 1998-99
Schoenberg OM-C 1998-99
Eric Schoenberg has had some great luthiers build guitars to his designs over the years, and no fewer than three from the pantheon of builders worked on this one. John Slobod and Julius Borges (particularly Borges) built and voiced the box in Littleton, MA, and Bruce Sexauer assembled the guitar in CA. That is some serious provenance!
It’s light as a feather and loud as all get-out. 12 frets to the body, so you get that middle-of-the-lower-bout bridge placement that’s optimized for highly-articulated fingerstyle play, but you have the Venetian cutaway that restores access to the upper frets. Lovely wide fingerboard, as well. A real dreamboat of a guitar.
